Our legacy of work goes back to 1988 and includes formation and incubation of the Governmental Risk Management Alliance, the Law Enforcement Liability Institute, the Public School Risk Institute, and most recently the Education Risk Intelligence Center. Along the way, we helped many outstanding private and public organizations in their pursuit of worthy goals in community asset protection, safe and welcoming schools, effective risk financing, and continuous risk control improvement.
Each of our members has relevant organizational development and communication experience, coupled with educational credentials covering varied institutions and geographic locations. Our relationships extend across the private and public sector with prominent active leaders at the local, state and national levels.

The Institute was formed in 2008 by school districts and school risk sharing groups to promote research, innovation and exchange of information concerning management of risk in the public school arena. Day-to-day operations were suspended in 2014. The website and extensive subject matter library are maintained for educational and research purposes as a continuing public benefit.
